Three old friends meet every week for lunch. Now Inge has  a new man in her life and he's crazy about her. But Darla and Maureen have heard this story before, and it never ends well. So when Inge admits Don is a  much younger man she met online, they warn her not to lend him money. And when an angry Inge storms from the restaurant they know something needs to be done.

Maureen, a retired cop, does a background check and discovers Don is a con artist with many aliases. It's time for retired drama teacher, Darla, to go undercover, She meets Inge's businessman friend, Don Johns, as the outdoorsman, Ace Johnson.

Can two Wiley  Wrinkles bring down  a professional con man who has been taking advantage of lonely, vulnerable widows for decades?

Everyone loves Chris. A successful lawyer and respected community leader, Chris is an all-round nice guy!

Only Petra knows the real Chris, the violent husband who abuses her and threatens to take their four-year-old daughter if Petra tries to leave. She has no one to turn to, even her own mother refuses to believe her  handsome, successful, nice  son-in-law would ever  hurt her daughter. Petra always exaggerates. Petra is clumsy. Petra needs to dress more like a girl. Petra needs to support her man, not seek attention for herself.

Petra sees only one way out. But is she strong enough? Quick enough? Will she get killed? Will she get caught? Petra  needs  to get this right or risk leaving her little girl with Chris.

Petra's mother, Maarta, confessed to  stabbing her son-in-law and now faces life in prison for first-degree murder. But Maarta's cousin, Inge, doesn't believe it. Yes, Maarta had motive and opportunity, but she also abhors violence, always has. Maarta would never hurt another living creature. How could she? Maarta's a vegan! And yet she did confess.

 Inge turns to her old friends, Darla and Maureen for help. Partners in the newly formed Out to Lunch Investigators  the two Winklies have a roving office in whichever restaurant they meet for lunch.  They offer help to seniors when no one else will listen. And they do their best planning while out to lunch.

But if they  uncover the truth and prove who really killed Petra's husband, will either  Inge or Maarta be happy with the result?
